Grilled cheese + Bloody Mary
Grilled Cheese and Bloody Marys go together like peas and carrots, apples and oranges, pie and ice cream. They really are a great pair!
I don't know about you but when I have a Bloody Mary, I always think of the airport/airplanes/vacations. You know when you're on the plane and the flight attendant asks what you'd like to drink and you answer: "I'll have a ginger ale with ice please". Then the person next to you responds, "I'll have tomato juice on ice, with vodka, thank you". I immediately change my order and tell the flight attendant with a smile, "I'll have the same".
This Grilled Cheese and Bloody Mary combo is great for in between meals. When I say meal, this drink truly feels like you had a hearty meal, it definitely fills you up.
This is a very simple and easy Bloody Mary recipe, so let's get started!
What you'll need
-
1 cup of tomato juice
-
1-2 drops of tabasco/cholula sauce
-
2-3 drops of worcestershire sauce
-
1/4 wedge of lemon juice
-
a splash of pickle juice (optional)
-
a pinch of garlic powder (optional)
-
a dash of pepper
-
1 oz of vodka
*This will make 1 serving.
Garnish & sides: pickles, pickled beans, pickled peppers, olives, lemon wedges (optional)
For the rimming: mix 1 tbs of sea salt and 1 tbs of paprika, or you can just use celery salt. Pour it onto a flat surface, rim your glass with a lemon and place your glass face down onto the plate.
Grilled cheese sandwich: I used baguettes instead of sliced bread, mainly because I wanted it to be bite sized, since this was just to tie me over. But if you're looking for a full meal, I say go for the big slice! ;)
Now, take your Grilled Cheese Sandwich + Bloody Mary, sit outside and enjoy! A perfect snack on a hot spring/summer day!
